A little bit about me - and why the films feel the way they do.
I first stepped onto a film set at 16 as a production assistant on a TV advert for BT and instantly loved it.
It wasn’t a straight line, but filmmaking was always something I kept coming back to. Along the way, I worked on projects for BBC and ITV, other TV adverts, several music videos and a couple of short films, learning something new on every shoot.
Fast forward and after a lot of thinking, my fiancé Leanne said to me, “You should go for it.” So… I did.
In 2023, I started The Filming Fella. A genuinely big moment. And honestly, I’m still buzzing!
Since setting things up, I’ve been lucky enough to work across a really varied mix of projects. Wedding videography sits right at the heart of what I do, with other work fitting in around the quieter months. Different projects. Same care. Same approach.
When it comes to weddings, I film and edit everything myself. Nothing’s outsourced or handed off. It means every film gets the same level of care from start to finish.
Before anything’s booked in or confirmed, I like to meet my couples properly whenever possible. Face to face ideally. Down your local for a quick beer or coffee - depending on the time! If it’s a little too far, a Teams chat works too.
When I’m not filming weddings, life’s shared with my fiancé Leanne and our seven year old daughter Ella.
Leanne (the real hero of the household) somehow balances a full time job, runs a football team, is an amazing mum to Ella and still manages to help out with some of the less exciting bits of me running a small business. Ella mostly keeps us on our toes and steals my Jaffa Cakes.
You might even spot her name quietly tucked away in the business name if you look closely.
All of that feeds into how I approach filming weddings.
When a couple tells me that their film “didn’t feel like a normal, boring wedding video”, more like an “actual film”. When their friends and family say, “I wish you had been around when I got married!”
That’s what it’s all about.
